The Blues

"Better not stop, you gotta keep rollin'
Seems to me there's somethin' worth knowin'
the blues ain't nothin' but a good man feelin' bad... "

Double Trouble -Otis Rush

I lay awake at night
can't sleep just so troubled
It's hard to keep a job,
laid off and havin' double trouble
Hey, they say you can make it if you try
Yes, in this generation of millionaires,
it's hard for me to keep decent clothes to wear

You laughed at me walkin' baby,
when I had no place to go
Bad luck and trouble have taken me,
I have got no money to show
Hey, hey, to make it you've got to try, baby, that's no lie
Yes, in this generation of millionaires,
it's hard for me to keep decent clothes to wear

I love the blues Thousand Sons. My favorite contemporary song is Red House by Hendrix.
I'm not familiar with Otis Rush; did Stevie Ray's band take their name from this song?
I know the music of Otis Spahn a little - I have an LP of his and about 20 yrs. ago went to the Ballard Firehouse and saw Robert "Junior" Lockwood perform. He was one of the few people who learned to play the blues from Robert Johnson!
Anyway, I was brave and took my Otis Spahn LP (he guested on it)and he did sign it for me. There were only about 25-30 people there but I will never forget it.
The blues get under your skin and choke you up something fierce, eh?
Thanks for posting this.
